Pick-Up and Drop-Off Protocol
Parent Responsibilities
Ensure your child is on time for pick-up and drop-off. The bus stops for 3 minutes before departing.
Bus Stop Supervision
Staff won’t be at public stops—please wait with younger children.
Late or Missed Pick-Ups
If your child misses the bus, you must arrange alternative transport.
Bus Safety & Behaviour
At Skye College, your child’s safety is our priority. Our bus service is designed to be safe, reliable, and a positive experience for all students.
🚨 Emergency Procedures
- If there’s a delay, breakdown, or emergency, we’ll notify parents immediately.
- Drivers are trained to handle emergencies safely, following strict protocols.
- Please phone the Skye College reception if you need any urgent information.
Safety Standards
Our buses are well-maintained, equipped with seat belts, and driven by trained, experienced professionals.
Bus Tracking
Every bus has GPS, cameras, and fleet monitoring to ensure security. Footage is only shared with our security team when necessary.
Student Behaviour
To keep the ride safe and pleasant for everyone, we ask students to:
- Be Respectful – Treat drivers, staff, and fellow students with kindness.
- Follow Instructions – Listen to the driver and staff at all times.
- Stay Seated – Wear seat belts and remain seated while the bus is moving.
- Uphold School Values – Behaviour should align with the Skye College Code of Conduct.
Prohibited Behaviour
- Disruptive Behaviour – Keep voices at a reasonable level; no shouting or loud music.
- Rough Play – No pushing, fighting, or any physical contact that could harm or distract others.
- Electronics – Phones and tablets should stay in bags during the ride.
- Food & Drink – No eating or drinking unless medically necessary. Let’s keep our buses clean!
- Vandalism – Damaging the bus (graffiti, tearing seats, tampering with equipment) leads to disciplinary action and repair costs.
- Bullying & Harassment – Everyone deserves a safe and welcoming ride—any form of bullying or discrimination will not be tolerated.
- Serious Misconduct – Repeated or serious violations may lead to suspension from the bus service.
Responsibilities
- Students – Be respectful, follow the rules, and help create a positive bus environment.
- Drivers & Staff – Keep students safe and report any issues to the school.
- Parents/Guardians – Go over these rules with your child to ensure they understand and follow them.
Reporting and Consequences
- Incident Reporting: Students or parents should report any problems to the bus driver, who will inform the school.
- Disciplinary Actions: May result in a warning or temporary suspension from bus services.
- Severe Violations: Actions like vandalism or physical violence could lead to suspension from school. Parents may also be responsible for any damages.
